We have learned that it is best practice to have someone at the vendors facility at various points during the manufacturing/repair process to monitor the progress and quality of work being done. At the very least, it is advisable to inspect and test the equipment at the vendors facility prior to allowing shipment to your site. For these site visits to be effective, you send someone who is both knowledgeable about the equipment and not afraid to speak up when things aren’t performing to specification.
